What to expect from your first session?

During your first visit in physiotherapy for vestibular rehabilitation, the therapist will ask you several questions to understand your symptoms and their evolution in order to plan the evaluation.

Then, an objective assessment will be carried out to determine the source of your problems. Different tests of the nervous system, the visual system, the balance, the neck and the inner ear will be carried out.

The therapist will then explain the results of the assessment to you so that you fully understand your problem and will detail his treatment plan. If necessary, follow-up appointments will be suggested

To consider before the first visit:

  • If possible, ask someone to come with you, as the assessment may temporarily disrupt your balance.
  • Avoid eating two hours before the session.
  • If you have medication to manage your symptoms, take it before the visit.
  • Have a summary of medical results, previous therapeutic interventions and the history of your problem.
  • Provide a list of medications you are taking.
  • Allow an additional 20 minutes following the assessment.
